NOTARISING OR CERTIFYING YOUR DOCUMENTS

There are several methods of obtaining a notarised copy of the picture page of your passport:-

  1. Take your original passport to be notarised by a US notary. US notary’s are available at US embassies and consulates worldwide

  2. Visit our offices and bring your passports for copying and notarising or send them to us by FEDEX, UPS or similar

  3. Take your original passport to be notarised or certified as a “true copy of the original” by a local notary or solicitor/lawyer in your home country. The notarised or certified copy must then be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to be “legalised” – the cost (for UK residents) is nineteen UK pounds sterling per document. Cheques or postal orders must be made payable to “Foreign and Commonwealth Office”.

If you would like your document returned by Special Delivery or Swiftair (overseas) you must send the appropriate fee. The current cost (for UK residents) is five UK pounds sterling.

Please note that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office are currently taking around two - three weeks to process documentation.
