2008 Calendar of Events -  Non Resident Clients

 

IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES

JANUARY

Management company's prepare and send out their final statement for the tax year.

Harding & Associates questionnaire should be completed and returned along with any supporting paperwork.

US lenders start to mail out Mortgage Interest Statements (Form 1098).  Include a copy with your completed questionnaire.

Tangible Personal Property Tax Returns are mailed out by the County.  If you receive the return in your home country you should sign and mail the return to us for completion on your behalf.

US lenders mail out Form W-8BEN for completion and return.  Instructions for completing the form can be found on our website.  Form W-9 is only applicable to US residents and should be discarded.

FEBRUARY

IRS mails out tax forms 1040NR/1040EZ - please discard these forms.  We prepare the tax returns from specialist tax software and do not require hard copy forms.

MARCH

March 31st - last date to file 2008 Tangible Personal Property Tax Return without incurring penalties.

APRIL

2007 Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property Tax Bills become delinquent and penalties and interest start to accrue.

JUNE

June 15th - tax filing deadline for non-resident tax returns (where tax is due).

AUGUST

County mails out TRIM notices - assessments for Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property Taxes for 2008.   You must notify the Property Appraiser's Office of any questions you may have regarding the assessment by September 1st.

SEPTEMBER

Local Business Tax (previously Occupational License) is renewable by 30th September.

NOVEMBER

County mails out the 2008 Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property Tax Bills.  Payment is due by March 31st, 2009 - discounts are available for early payment.  The bills can be viewed by visiting the relevant Tax Collector's Website.

DECEMBER

Harding & Associates mails out questionnaire for reporting income and expenditure for 2008 tax year.
